Senior Mechanical Engineer - HVAC / Hydronics

Kenosha EPC is seeking a Senior Mechanical Engineer.  For this role, we offer the freedom and flexibility to work remotely and/or at our Centennial office.  Qualified candidates will possess a diverse technical background in mechanical engineering, HVAC, and hydronics, coupled with experience leading tasks on industrial and commercial projects and interacting with multi-disciplinary design teams.

 

Scope/Key Responsibilities:

  • Design HVAC, hydronics, and plumbing systems.
  • Perform detailed heat transfer calculations, equipment sizing, and system optimization.
  • Conversant in the engineering, design, and specification of packaged equipment such as chillers, cooling towers, dehumidification systems , pumps, heat exchangers, fan coil units, CRAH’s, and CRAC’s. 
  • Must be familiar with all national codes and standards applicable to such equipment and piping systems including but not limited to ASHRAE, SMACNA, IMC, ASME, and applicable building codes.
  • Prepare material requisition packages including specifications and data sheets, perform technical bid evaluations, and conduct drawing reviews of mechanical equipment. 
  • Interface with other disciplines, clients, and contractors to lead projects to successful completion.
  • Ability to contribute to several projects simultaneously.
  • Assist in maintaining project design budgets and schedules.
  • Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior engineering and design personnel.
  • Check calculations and deliverables made by other engineers.
  • Assist the design groups in resolving layout and detailing problems.
  • Perform field trips as required for walk down purposes and engineering information gathering.

Required Experience/Credentials 

  • B.S. in Mechanical Engineering.
  • Minimum of 10 years of experience designing HVAC and hydronics systems.
  • Experience with Carrier HAP, Trane Trace, or similar.
  • P.E. certification is required.
  • NCEES record with ability to obtain licensure in multiple states.

Desired Credentials And Skills

  • Data center design experience.
  • Strong familiarity with Revit, AutoCAD, Navisworks, and Bluebeam Revu is a plus.
  • Experience with VOC abatement systems.
  • Dust collection system design experience.
  • Knowledge of fire protection systems.
