Position Overview:
We are seeking a highly skilled Instrumentation and Controls engineer, with specialized expertise in upstream and midstream oil and gas operations. The ideal candidate will be responsible for engineering, designing, commissioning, as well as specifying instrumentation and controls equipment critical to the safe and efficient operation of oil and gas and other facilities. Occasional travel and site visits might be required.
Key Responsibilities:
• Responsible for the development of instrumentation engineering/design deliverables, including instrument index, instrument data sheets, instrument installation details, instrument location plans, wiring diagrams, and loop diagrams.
• Lead the production of controls design deliverables, including I/O list, process control narratives, cause & effect diagrams, and manage third party control system suppliers to comply with the control system design requirements, including participating in factory acceptance tests (FAT).
• Design and implement control systems for pumps, compressors, valves, and other equipment to optimize the operation of Oil and Gas facilities.
• Develop I&C material requisitions, review bids, make technical recommendations, review of I&C packages, and review of vendor documentation.
• Participate to the development of P&ID drawings for various projects.
• Responsible for preliminary sizing calculations for instruments such as orifice plates, controls valves, relief valves, and thermowells.
• Ensure all control systems and components meet industry safety standards and regulatory requirements.
• Provide leadership and guidance for less experienced engineers.
• Perform field visits and inspections as required.
• Prepare professional service estimates and assign technical resources to projects
• Responsible for effective communication with other engineering disciplines.

Qualifications:
• Bachelor’s Degree or Master’s Degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering or Chemical Engineering or related field.
• 10 years of experience in Instrumentation and Controls engineering with a focus on midstream oil and gas projects. Experience designing manufacturing facilities is a plus.
• Professional Engineer (PE) certification preferred.
• Strong knowledge of industry-specific codes and standards (e.g., NEC, API, NFPA).
• Excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.
• Effective communication and teamwork abilities.
